Article I. Governance of the University and Authorizations

Section 1. As prescribed in Piedmont University’s Policies and Procedures, the University is governed by a Board of Trustees that administers the University through its chief executive officer, the President, who acts as a representative of the Board in policy and procedural matters.

 

Section 2. All authority of persons attached to the University or employed by the University, in any capacity, is derived either directly from the Board of Trustees or from the Board’s chief executive officer, the President, acting as the Board’s representative.

 

Section 3. All administrative officers, faculty, staff, and students of the University are ultimately responsible to the President. The President, reporting to the Board and its Committees, shall have all authority necessary to direct the programs of the University (Trustees’ Bylaws, Section D.4).

 

Section 4. These bylaws govern the faculty’s participation in institutional decision making and the processes by which faculty shall collaborate with the University administration.
