4.6 Associate Deans

 

 

Associate deans may be appointed by the President to assist academic deans and/or the Vice President for Academic Affairs and serve at the pleasure of the President.

Associate deans are 12-month faculty employees.  They normally receive a nine-credit annual course release.

 

Associate deans’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following, as required by the college’s academic dean:

  1. Assisting the dean with departmental faculty appointment, evaluation and reappointment, promotion, dismissal and non-renewal;
  2. Assisting with the promotion of quality instruction in the college;
  3. Preparing annual assessment reports and/or external accreditation documents;
  4. Scheduling courses as necessary;
  5. Responding to student academic concerns; and
  6. Other duties as assigned.
