4.26 Academic Transfer
Departmental faculty are charged with the responsibility for developing guidelines for the acceptance of academic coursework from other colleges/universities. Final decisions concerning the suitability and acceptance of academic coursework from other institutions resides with the dean of the respective school in consultation with the Registrar.
- Students may receive transfer credit for courses taken at accredited institutions and foreign institutions approved for semester(s) abroad.
- Students who attended colleges not accredited at the time of attendance may be asked to provide additional materials including course syllabi, university catalog course descriptions, and instructors’ credential information before transferability of the courses may be determined.
- Courses from accredited technical colleges in the State of Georgia may be accepted pursuant to Articulation Agreements between Piedmont University and the specific technical university.
- Only grades of “C” or higher are transferred in all courses.
- Developmental, orientation, student-assembly, and cultural-events credits are non- transferable.
- All transfer students will need to submit high school information for Financial Aid purposes: transcript, assessment scores, or a copy of the diploma is acceptable.
