Health Care Administration (BS)
This degree is a broad-based, multidisciplinary degree that will prepare students to work in a variety of settings and will also prepare the student for graduate education. The health science core contains coursework in pathology, pharmacology, health promotion, health policy, and finance, and is complemented by classes in accounting, economics, and management from the College of Business. This gives students a solid healthcare foundation from which to understand their clients’ needs and the business acumen to deliver results. Healthcare administrators are found in both in- and out-patient medical and wellness facilities, hospitals, corporate fitness and recreation centers, equipment sales, the insurance industry, and patient advocacy groups. Students will also have completed all but one of the prerequisite courses (
BUSA 2140) to enter Piedmont’s Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program or continue advanced studies in sports administration, coaching, and public health.
