EDUC 6151 edTPA Orientation

Candidates will prepare for the Education Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) and continue to develop their professional portfolio. Candidates will be expected to have the technological proficiency in basic video editing in order to add artifacts to the professional portfolio and submit as evidence for edTPA. Pass/fail. Students may request an In-progress grade for an additional semester.

  1. Read and comprehend instructions and policies within the edTPA handbook 
  2. Apply information contained in the support materials to lessons and portfolio materials 
  3. Write extensively in a focused and organized manner that flows logically and specifically addresses the task
  4. Write in a scholarly manner referencing knowledge of content, pedagogy, and theorists 
  5. Understand the progression of the rubrics and evaluate whether their work contains erroneous, superfluous, or missing information
  6. Critically review the value of their work, analyze the alignment between outcomes, evidence, and standards, compare responses with written task requirements, and demonstrate synthesized learning 
  7. Identify areas of weakness, conflict, or confusion, and seek clarity or support
