The Student Success Center is located in Lane Hall in Demorest and in the Commons in Athens. Students are at the heart of everything we do at Piedmont College. This commitment is reflected in the Student Success Center, established to help our students reach their various academic goals. The Student Success Center offers the following services: tutoring, accommodations, personal counseling, and career education.

One student may endeavor to pass a particularly difficult course. Another may aspire to develop a B into an A. ADA Accommodations
The Director of Disability Support is responsible for arranging reasonable accommodations for those students who have provided documentation stating a medical or learning disability. This service is confidential and free to all students. To receive accommodations, students are required to self-report. Testing to determine disabilities is not provided through this office, but referrals are made. Career Education
Career education and professional development is available to all students and alumni of Piedmont College. The Director of Career Education and Compass provides personal consultations to those students who are unsure of their career goals or require career readiness preparation. Career Services can assist students in developing needed career skills which can include but is not limited to: resume development, interview preparation and practice, graduate school preparation, social media practices, job search strategies, major/career exploration, assessments etc. Students have the opportunity to meet with Career Services staff in individual meetings as well as through career presentations and events. Online resources offered free of charge to Piedmont College students include access to SuccessLink, Piedmont College’s online job board and career resource site. Career Services also provides access to regional and statewide career fairs as well as additional employer networking opportunities.

Personal Counseling
Personal counseling is provided in a safe, confidential atmosphere and is available to assist students with personal, developmental, or psychological concerns related to their academic progress and personal growth. Through individual counseling, group counseling, and referrals to campus and community resources, personal counselors are committed to supporting students who have personal issues that hinder their academic success.
Personal counselors can assist with and/or provide resources for a variety of topics, such as adjustment to college life, stress, depression, anxiety, loneliness, sexuality, eating issues, perfectionism, academic concerns, discrimination, transition difficulties, and relationship issues with a partner, relative, or child. Personal counselors help students develop new strategies for dealing with these challenges or to help clarify students’ feelings through self-exploration and discovery.
Counseling appointments are requested by email or phone, and services are provided at no charge to students. As necessary, students are referred to other professional resources located on and off campus. The counseling office is located in the Student Success Center on the Demorest Campus and in the Commons of the Athens Campus.

Piedmont College Barnes and Noble Bookstore
Barnes and Noble operates the store and has available required and recommended textbooks for classes as well as a wide variety of Piedmont memorabilia such as clothing, blankets, hats, mugs, and other Piedmont gifts. The bookstores also carry a selection of general reading books, including the top 10 National Campus and bestselling fiction and non-fiction titles. Hours vary and are posted on the bookstore website www.piedmont.bncollege.com and campus bulletin boards.

Health Insurance
All students are covered by a general liability insurance plan, which will cover accidents incurred while on campus or while participating in College-sponsored academic or sports activities at an off-campus location. College liability insurance will not cover any cost incurred as a result of illness or as a result of accidents that do not occur on campus or at college-sponsored events. Insurance may be purchased through a private broker of the student's choosing.
Residential students will be required to show proof of health insurance prior to moving into the residence halls Fall 2018.

For full-time students living on campus an office visit is free of charge (not including tests or medications). You must show a valid Piedmont College student ID.
PrimeCare, Habersham Medical Center’s non-emergency and occupational health clinic, is available to help you with those unexpected illnesses and injuries. PrimeCare is staffed by a physician assistant under the direction of a medical doctor. PrimeCare is not a walk-in clinic and patients are seen by appointment only. Limited same-day appointments are usually available by calling (706) 754-CARE (2273).

Travel/Study
Become a global citizen at Piedmont College! Piedmont College offers its undergraduate students short and long term Travel/Study opportunities to enrich their academic programs, language skills, historical knowledge, cultural awareness, and personal sense of independence.
Maymester Trips
Each May, students travel for 7 – 14 days with two Piedmont College faculty members to a domestic or international location. In recent years, Piedmont students have studied internationally in Peru, Germany, the Czech Republic, Japan, Spain, England, Ireland, and Scotland while domestic trips have taken students to the US southwest, Pacific northwest, the northeast, California, and Alaska. Because trips change annually, some students participate in multiple Maymester experiences over the course of their college career. It's a great way to earn college credit and see the world.
Semester Abroad
Some students want to travel longer than a Maymester; they participate in 1 of Piedmont College's 3 semester abroad opportunities.
- Located in a vibrant urban area in England, The University of Nottingham is a world-class research university housing one of the best business schools in the world. They accept students with all majors, so don't hesitate to apply.
- The University of Paderborn in Germany requires a month long intensive German language course before students begin their studies IN ENGLISH; this is an excellent opportunity to jump-start those transferable language skills for a career in international studies or with a multinational corporation.
- Live and study in a magnificent old castle at Harlaxton College in England. This amazing facility supports students in all majors, but special emphasis is given to British Studies. History, humanities, and fine arts students will find this program particularly attractive.

Computer Labs
The College maintains computer labs that are available for use by all students. Please contact the staff on duty for the times when assistance is available. All students are required to maintain their data on personal storage devices and not on computer lab equipment. Computer lab equipment are periodically optimized and/or purged of non-essential files. Security systems are in place to restrict access to software and protect the College's software copyrights from destruction or the introduction of computer viruses.
All persons using the computer resources are required to follow the guidelines set forth for priority of use. Inappropriate use and/or behavior in the lab area, as well as violations of rules and regulations of the College will result in disciplinary action and restriction from computer services use. Check with IT Services for an update list of computer labs.
