Fundraising and Residence Halls
While acknowledging that solicitation is not permitted on campus, student fundraising, or passive solicitation, is allowable in residence halls under certain circumstances. The fundraising must be a component of a university-sponsored activity, i.e. under the auspices of Athletics, Campus Activity Board, Residence Life, Student Government Association, Team Piedmont, or other recognized student organizations, and all promotion must be confined to common areas, and not involve approaching individual rooms. Approval must be granted in writing in advance by the Director of Residence Life at least three (3) business days prior to the fundraising event in question There should not be any sort of solicitation collection box placed in any residence hall before approval. Any student found violating this policy will be required to meet with a student conduct case manager.
