CRJU 3900 Organized Crime

This course will provide students with an examination of the origins, evolution, and present-day status of organized crime. Myths about organized crime and stereotypes will also be discussed. The course will also exam the varying definitions of organized crime, drug smuggling networks, and counterfeit goods. Also discussed are the resemblances between terrorist organizations and organized crime groups in terms of structure, financing, and recruiting mechanisms.
