Undergraduate Catalog 2021-2022

Environmental Science, B.S.

The major in environmental science is designed for students interested in studying resource use, environmental problems, and solutions to these problems from a scientific perspective. This major may serve as training for graduate school or a job as an environmental scientist. Science, including environmental science, is centered on application, not merely the learning of a body of facts. Therefore, an important option for science majors at Piedmont University is developing a working knowledge of the scientific method and the process of scientific inquiry. This prepares students to succeed in graduate school while ensuring that they receive an education that is comparable with the finest institutions in the country.
