Gifted Education (P-12), M.A.
Master of Arts (M.A.) degree program in Gifted Education
The Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Gifted Education is a 30-39 credit program is designed for teachers and other experienced educators who desire to teach in and/or coordinate programs designed for exceptional learners. This program does not lead to initial certification in gifted education. However, the three foundational courses constitute an in-field endorsement in gifted education. Once completed, candidates may request that the college make a recommendation to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to have the endorsement added to existing educator certification.
Program Requirements
Foundational Courses
Each candidate is required to complete the following courses as a part of the degree program, if not taken previously. Completion of these courses will enable certified Georgia educators to qualify for the in-field Gifted endorsement:
