Employment of Aliens
Employment of aliens is restricted to those who are authorized under law to accept employment in the United States.
Employment of Minors
No person under age fourteen may be employed by Piedmont College. Minors between fourteen and sixteen years of age must submit an Employment Certificate (Work Permit) issued by a local school authority at the time they apply for employment at the college.
Employment of Relatives
The college shall not employ any person related to a successor or alumni trustee by blood, marriage or adoption to the first or second degree of consanguinity unless by the recommendation of the President to the Board of Trustees. No one related by blood, marriage or adoption to the first or second degree of consanguinity shall be employed full-time by the same administrative department or academic unit of the college unless by the recommendation of the President to the Board of Trustees. Violations of this policy existing as of the date of the adoption of the policy have been granted exemption from its terms.
Employment of Piedmont College Students
The mission of the Student Employment Program at Piedmont College is to provide students a meaningful work experience aimed at enhancing college and career goals, while providing financial support.
Piedmont College offers employment to eligible students each year, regardless of need, within the limits of available funding. Student workers earn the National Minimum Wage on a bi-weekly basis. Piedmont College’s Work Study Program is part of an effort to reduce the financial burden on families while teaching productive work habits as part of a well-rounded, liberal arts education.

Students desiring employment must have a Social Security Number and be prepared to provide proper identification, verifying their identities and ability to work within the United States, before work begins. The Work Study Program of Piedmont College is a federally-sponsored program established for the purpose of stimulating and promoting the part-time employment of students who have financial needs. The Work Study Program is administered in accordance with applicable Federal regulations and policies of the college.
